The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL) hired Keith Morris as its next General Manager of Hockey Operations on Tuesday.

Morris spent the last two seasons as the General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations for the Anchorage Wolverines in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). He was named a finalist for General Manager of the Year for the 2023-2024 season where he steered the Wolverines to a 45-17-2-5 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record. He worked as the team's Director of Hockey Operations from 2021-2023.

"We are thrilled to welcome Keith to the Tri-City Storm organization," said Storm President Mark Jalcovik. "Keith is the perfect choice to lead our hockey operations. He is a proven winner and is committed to building the Tri-City Storm to be highly competitive next season and beyond. Keith is passionate about bringing in the next wave of players to the Storm and the USHL, the greatest developmental league in the world.”

Morris previously served as the program director of the South Anchorage Hockey Association, an assistant coach at the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2003-2006 and a scout for the Omaha Lancers from 2001-2003. He played four seasons at Alaska Anchorage before a pro career in the ECHL and IHL.

“I am humbled and honored to be named General Manager of the Tri-City Storm," said Morris. "The Storm have a tremendous legacy in the USHL and have built a first-class program both on and off the ice. I want to thank the ownership in the confidence in me moving forward in leading the hockey operations for the Storm. We will put an exciting team on the ice that the Tri-Cities and all of central Nebraska will be proud of.”

The news follows Monday's announcement that head coach Marco Treviño was named assistant coach at Robert Morris University.

About the USHL

The United States Hockey League (USHL) and its 16 teams are committed to being the world's leading 16–20-year-old junior hockey league. During the 2024-25 season, USHL alumni held over 50% of NCAA Division I roster spots, and over 25% of NHL players had USHL experience. With 10 first-round selections and 49 total picks in the 2024 NHL Draft, the USHL has developed the most draft choices of any junior hockey league since 2012.

Elevated through the recently announced Declaration of Excellence with the NHL and USA Hockey, the league's player-first approach, including a 2:1 practice-to-game ratio and a schedule with 92% of games played on weekends, provides its players with the optimal environment for athletic and personal growth, creating pathways for the next generation of stars like Kyle Connor (Youngstown Phantoms), Macklin Celebrini (Chicago Steel), Matthew Knies (Tri-City Storm), Adam Fantilli (Chicago Steel) and Jeremy Swayman (Sioux Falls Stampede). More.
