The Sioux City Musketeers surged past the Fargo Force behind a balanced effort powered by both offensive firepower and a standout performance in net from Jack Fichthorn, while the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders controlled play on home ice in a win over the Des Moines Buccaneers in a two-game slate across the USHL.

Sioux City Musketeers 5, Fargo Force 1
Backstopped by Jack Fichthorn’s 40-save performance, the Sioux City Musketeers controlled the pace from the opening puck drop and never let up. Sioux City scored twice in under a minute to take early command, as Darik Olson opened the scoring with a one-timer before Max Anderson followed shortly after with a snipe to double the lead. Sioux City continued to pressure offensively as Olson’s shot was blocked and Ashton Schultz capitalized on the rebound to extend the advantage. Zac Zimmerman got the Fargo Force on the board, but the momentum was short-lived as William Tomko responded less than a minute later with a breakaway goal during 4-on-4 play. Trey Jefferis capped off the Musketeers’ strong showing with the team’s fifth goal, while Fichthorn anchored the defensive effort with the highest save total of the night across all teams in action.

Des Moines Buccaneers 1, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 6
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a strong home performance. Ruben Westerling opened the scoring with a snipe, followed by goals from Jason Musa and Connor Davis to make it 3-0 with 12:17 remaining in the second period. Riley Zupfer provided the lone response for the Des Moines Buccaneers, but Cedar Rapids maintained control throughout. David Bosco added another goal late in the second period, and Jason Musa scored his second of the night in the third period. Braiden Scuderi capped off the RoughRiders’ high-scoring night with the final goal to secure the win.
