Kohanski Scores Overtime Winner as Lincoln Edges Omaha, 7–6

The Lincoln Stars defeated the Omaha Lancers 7–6 in overtime in a high-scoring rivalry matchup that featured multiple momentum swings and a dramatic late comeback.

Omaha opened the scoring when Stanislav Sanejster netted his first career USHL goal, giving the Lancers an early boost in the rivalry contest. Lincoln responded behind their offensive leaders, including Alex Pelletier, who recorded his 45th goal of the season.

The teams traded quick strikes as the intensity picked up, highlighting the fast pace and physical edge of the matchup. Layne Loomer also played a major role for the Stars, scoring twice on the night, including his 29th goal of the season.

Omaha mounted a late push in the third period behind Cam Caron, who scored twice to fuel the comeback. Caron’s second goal of the night tied the game at 6–6 in the third period, capping off a dramatic rally for the Lancers.

In the extra period, Kade Kohanski scored the game-winning goal to secure the 7–6 overtime victory for Lincoln. Omaha finished the game with a 43–39 edge in shots on goal, while both teams went 1-for-4 on the power play in the physical rivalry contest.

The teams traded quick strikes throughout the game, including a stretch of back-to-back goals as both sides battled for momentum in the heated rivalry matchup.
