It was a night for the Dogs in Sioux Falls, as the club hosted its 19th annual wiener dog races benefiting the Dakota Dachshund Rescue. Simon dethroned defending champ Rockefeller on the track, and the hometown “Fighting Wiener Dogs” followed with a 4–1 win over Des Moines Buccaneers.

Green Bay Gamblers goalie Leo Henriquez also had some bark tonight, starring in a 5–0 win over the Lincoln Stars. The Slovakian netminder scored his first USHL goal, a highlight reel empty-net, power play goal, then turned in his second shutout in as many nights.

Also around the league, the Muskegon Lumberjacks edged the Youngstown Phantoms 3–2. USA Hockey NTDP got early goals from Brayden Willis and Nolan Fitzhenry, but the Dubuque Fighting Saints answered with four in the second and went on to win 6–2. The Fargo Force topped the Madison Capitols 3–1, the Sioux City Musketeers beat the Omaha Lancers 5–1, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders slipped past the Waterloo Black Hawks 2–1. The Tri-City Storm rallied past the Chicago Steel 3–2, behind third-period goals from Bode Laylin and Luca Jarvis.

About the USHL

The United States Hockey League (USHL) and its 16 teams are committed to being the world's leading junior hockey league. This season, more than 50% of NCAA Division I men's hockey players and nearly 25% of NHL players have USHL experience. The USHL has developed more than 285 direct NHL Draft picks since 2020, and eight of the last 10 Hobey Baker Award winners, including Macklin Celebrini (Chicago Steel).

Elevated through the recently announced Declaration of Excellence with the NHL and USA Hockey, the league's player-first approach, including a 2:1 practice-to-game ratio and a schedule with 90% of games played on weekends, provides its players with the optimal environment for athletic and personal growth, creating pathways for the next generation of stars like Auston Matthews (NTDP), Kyle Connor (Youngstown Phantoms), Jeremy Swayman (Sioux Falls Stampede), and Johnny Gaudreau (Dubuque Fighting Saints).
