Learn what it takes to reach the highest levels of hockey.

The USHL High Performance Camp is an invite-only development and evaluation experience for elite 2011 and 2012-born players looking to better understand what it takes to reach the next levels. It takes place June 12-14, 2026 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn.

With just four teams in the field, this exclusive event gives players a behind-the-scenes look at how the USHL, NHL, NCAA, and USA Hockey evaluate talent and identify future players.

Through advanced performance testing, cognitive and hockey IQ assessments, on-ice competition, and direct access to hockey’s top decision-makers, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of where they stand today and what it takes to advance.

The camp will feature presentations from the following leaders:
  • Rod Braceful, USA Hockey NTDP, General Manager
  • Mike Cavanaugh, University of Connecticut, Men's Hockey Head Coach
  • David Gregory, NHL Central Scouting, Associate Director
  • John Riley, Tampa Bay Lightning, Head Amateur Scout
  • Dr. Donald Shrump, CORE Performance Labs
  • Vin Maltz, Bloodline Hockey
The camp is hosted by the USHL’s Senior Director of Player Personnel Frank Butler, USHL President and Commissioner Glenn Hefferan, and special guest Vin Maltz of Bloodline Hockey.

What’s included?
  • Force-plate testing performed by Hawkin Dynamics, makers of force plates, the industry standard for measuring athletic performance, injury risk, and player development.
  • The CORE Hockey Assessment measuring reaction time, agility, explosiveness, decision-making, and athletic symmetry to provide a complete picture of your on-ice potential
  • USHL Swag, Jersey, and Socks
  • Four Game Guarantee
  • Presentations by top hockey leaders
  • And much more!
Intersted? Please fill out all information as on this questionnaire as accurately as possible. Completion of the survey does not guarantee a spot in a USHL High Performance Camp. Players invited to participate will be pre-screened by USHL staff. The USHL will notify selected players via email with an official invitation.

About the USHL

The United States Hockey League (USHL) and its 16 teams are committed to being the world's leading junior hockey league. This season, more than 50% of NCAA Division I men's hockey players and nearly 25% of NHL players have USHL experience. The USHL has developed more than 285 direct NHL Draft picks since 2020, and nine of the last 10 Hobey Baker Award winners, including Macklin Celebrini (Chicago Steel).

Elevated through the recently announced Declaration of Excellence with the NHL and USA Hockey, the league's player-first approach, including a 2:1 practice-to-game ratio and a schedule with 90% of games played on weekends, provides its players with the optimal environment for athletic and personal growth, creating pathways for the next generation of stars like Auston Matthews (NTDP), Kyle Connor (Youngstown Phantoms), Jeremy Swayman (Sioux Falls Stampede), and Johnny Gaudreau (Dubuque Fighting Saints).
