Stampede Blank Lumberjacks in Game 2 of Clark Cup Final

The Sioux Falls Stampede moved within one win of a Clark Cup, suffocating the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a 3–0 shutout victory on Saturday night. The Herd scored one goal in each period and kept a clean sheet to take a commanding 2–0 series lead.

Sioux Falls jumped out to a 1–0 lead at the 18:14 mark of the first period. Tobias Öhman opened the scoring with his first goal of the postseason off a feed from below the goal line from Cooper Soller. The Herd carried a 16–11 shots-on-goal advantage and a 1–0 lead into the locker room after the opening 20 minutes.

The Stampede doubled their lead late in the second period after Thomas Zocco buried a rebound at the 16:13 mark of the frame.

With the Lumberjacks pushing late in regulation, Logan Renkowski put the finishing touches on the victory, wiring an empty-net goal at 16:12 from center ice to seal the shutout win.

Linards Feldbergs was an wall in net for the Stampede, stopping all 30 shots he faced to improve to 8–1–3 this postseason.
