Teams Trade Goals in Wild Sunday Night

Lincoln Stars 4, Sioux Falls Stampede 3 (OT) | VIDEO RECAP

Behind a spectacular 41-save performance from Charles Menard, the Lincoln Stars outlasted the Sioux Falls Stampede 4–3 in overtime Sunday night. With the victory, Lincoln secures a pivotal Game 2 win to even the series in the Western Conference Semifinals.

After a scoreless 20 minutes, Sioux Falls struck early in the second period with two goals in the first five minutes. Logan Renkowski opened the scoring on the power play, and J.J. Monteiro doubled the lead shortly after. Lincoln responded late in the frame as Cole Braunshausen cut the deficit to one at the 13:00 mark. KJ Sauer then tied the game on a power play just 61 seconds later.

Into the third period, Jack Brauti put the Stampede back in front with a power-play goal at the 7:40 mark, but Lincoln again found an answer. Kade Kohanski netted the equalizer with 5:25 remaining in regulation to force the extra session.

Alex Pelletier secured the win for the Stars at the 9:35 mark of overtime, scoring on a second-chance opportunity.

Menard picked up the win in net for Lincoln, turning aside 41-of-44.

Fargo Force 7, Sioux City Musketeers 4 | VIDEO RECAP

Behind a two-goal performance from Gavin Uhlenkamp and a 53-shot barrage, the Fargo Force pulled away to defeat the Sioux City Musketeers 7–4 on Sunday. With the victory, Fargo leads the series 2-0 in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Sioux City jumped out to an early lead in a wild first period that saw the two teams combine for five goals. Daniil Butin and Dakotah Bailey put the Musketeers up 2–0 before Kolin Sisson and Uhlenkamp responded for the Force. However, Ashton Schultz beat the buzzer with just two seconds left in the frame to give Sioux City a 3–2 lead after the opening 20 minutes.

Into the second period, the Force regained the lead behind tallies from Jacob Sagadin and Brooks Cullen. Gavin Garry netted the equalizer for the Musketeers at the 15:48 mark.

The third period belonged to Fargo’s special teams. Nate Delladonna netted a shorthanded goal midway through the period to provide the eventual game-winner, followed by a power-play insurance goal from Uhlenkamp. Saxton Tess iced the game with an empty-netter to cap off the scoring.

Ajay White made 30 saves on 34 shots to pick up the win for Fargo.
