The United States Hockey League (USHL) has renewed its partnership with Drive Hockey Analytics for the USHL Player Development Combine this week in Green Bay, Wisconsin, bringing state-of-the-art player tracking and performance analytics to one of the premier platforms for player identification and development.
Drive supported the USHL's high-profile summer combine last season, leveraging its innovative wearable sensor and smart arena technologies to deliver NHL-level analytics for aspiring players, coaches, and scouts. Its smart arena system collects objective, real-time data on player movement, speed, workload, and positioning, metrics often missed by the eye alone. Players wear a small, lightweight sensor.
"Drive's technology adds another layer of depth to our Player Development Series," said USHL President and Commissioner Glenn Hefferan. "We are giving young athletes a chance to be seen and evaluated with the same level of detail used at the highest levels of hockey."
Each participant will receive a personalized performance report after the event, highlighting their strengths, areas for development, and comparisons to peer groups. These reports are designed to be actionable for both players and coaches, supporting long-term improvement and exposure.
"Our mission is to help players be seen for what they do on the ice, and with the USHL, we're delivering that opportunity at scale," said Adam Nathwani, COO of Drive Hockey Analytics. "This isn't just about data, it's about making elite-level feedback accessible to young athletes in a way that actually impacts development and scouting."
Drive's system has been tested and deployed across dozens of elite junior events, including prior USHL combines and league games, ensuring high reliability in real-world game environments.

About the USHL
The United States Hockey League (USHL) and its 16 teams are committed to being the world's leading 16–20-year-old junior hockey league. During the 2024-25 season, USHL alumni held over 50% of NCAA Division I roster spots, and over 25% of NHL players had USHL experience. With 10 first-round selections and 49 total picks in the 2024 NHL Draft, the USHL has developed the most draft choices of any junior hockey league since 2012.
Elevated through the recently announced Declaration of Excellence with the NHL and USA Hockey, the league's player-first approach, including a 2:1 practice-to-game ratio and a schedule with 92% of games played on weekends, provides its players with the optimal environment for athletic and personal growth, creating pathways for the next generation of stars like Kyle Connor (Youngstown Phantoms), Macklin Celebrini (Chicago Steel), Matthew Knies (Tri-City Storm), Adam Fantilli (Chicago Steel) and Jeremy Swayman (Sioux Falls Stampede).
