Mac Swanson Named 2024 USHL Player of the Year
University of North Dakota commit becomes first Fargo Force player to win award
The United States Hockey League (USHL) and the Fargo Force have announced that
Mac Swanson has been named Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
League awards are voted on by each member club’s General Manager after each club nominates its players for awards.
Swanson, who earlier was named USHL Forward of the Year and All-USHL First Team, generated 77 points on 26 goals and 51 assists in 55 games for the Anderson Cup-winning Fargo Force in 2023-24.
Committed to the University of North Dakota, Swanson led the USHL in assists, ranked third in points and tied for the top plus-minus rating in the League with a +39 mark in 2023-24. Swanson, who totalled a career-high seven points on three goals and four assists in a 12-4 win over Sioux Falls Feb. 9, was rated #152 in the final NHLCS Draft rankings.
Swanson, a native of Anchorage, Alaska, who helped Team USA win a bronze medal at this year’s World Junior A Challenge, is the first Fargo Force player to be named USHL Player of the Year.
