Sioux City Musketeers Draft Preview
The United States Hockey League takes a team-by-team look ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Sioux City had three players selected in the 2022 NHL Draft in
Dylan James (40th overall to Detroit),
Garrett Brown (#99 to Winnipeg) and
Joel Maatta (#222 to Edmonton) and the Musketeers have had a total of 63 players selected all-time. Defenseman
Rostislav Klesla, who was picked fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2000 NHL Draft, owns the distinction as the highest-ever Sioux City Musketeer draft pick.
The Musketeers have had at least one player picked in each of the last 19 NHL Drafts dating back to the 2004 Draft.
Top Prospects for 2023
Benjamin Poitras (note: traded to Green Bay)

College Commitment: Northeastern
Poitras, a Toronto, Ont., native tallied 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 61 games in his rookie season Sioux City. The righthanded-shooting center, who ranked 11th in rookie scoring in the USHL in 2022-23, scored in overtime to lift the Musketeers to a 3-2 home win over Omaha Nov. 23.
Ryan Conmy
NHL Scouting Rank: #112
College Commitment: New Hampshire
Named to the USHL All-Rookie First Team this year, Conmy led Sioux City in scoring and ranked 14th in the league with 33-29—62 in 60 games. The rookie forward from Alexandria, Va., ranked fourth in the league in goals and including a three-goal hat trick in a 6-2 win over Tri-City on April 7, Conmy had four three-point games in his rookie season in the USHL in 2022-23.
