2023 USHL Drafts are in the Books
The 2023 USHL Draft is officially in the books!
The USHL Drafts were completed in two separate Phases, beginning with Phase I, which consisted of 10 rounds of “Futures” age players, who will be under-17 players for the next season. For the 2023 Draft, this is 2007 birth year players.
Wednesday was Phase II of the draft. Phase II was open to players of all ages who are eligible to play junior hockey and are not currently on one of the protected USHL rosters.
The Phase II Draft continued until all Member Clubs filled their Initial Protected List to a total of 45 players, including those who were previously protected from the Member Club’s affiliate list.
“The United States Hockey League is proud of the outstanding talent level taken today in Phase I and Phase II of our draft,” said USHL President and Commissioner
Bill Robertson. “It sets up an exciting time for the future of our league and the tremendous commitment by our member clubs to bring the best players in the world to our Tier I league.”
