The Indiana Ice and Key Bank hosted the annual "Pack the House for Charity" game on Sunday, February 28th with the Ice defeating Team USA 6-2 in front of 11,092 fans at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"Pack the House Night" is in its 16th year of existence and has provided the Ice the opportunity to give back to the communities throughout Central Indiana. The Ice joined forces with local organizations to help them raise money for their cause and each organization received a portion of all ticket sales for the night generated by their efforts. Since the Ice began play in the USHL in 2004-05, the "Pack the House Night" contest is the most-attended game for Tier 1 Junior Hockey in all of North America each year.
Five dollars from each ticket was donated to the charity, including the Lupus Foundation of America, Make a Wish, Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent, The Villages, and the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
As has been customary throughout the years, the Ice wore jerseys specially designed by patients at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.Vincent and throughout the game, fans had the opportunity to bid on their favorite players jerseys in a special "blind bid" auction.
The Sunday showcase also featured some added attractions for the fans. The Ice and Reis Nichols Jewelers paired up to give away a four-day, three-night trip to Hawaii and a diamond and ruby necklace in the Fire and Ice shootout. In addition, Radio Disney was on hand with exclusive premier passes to Tim Burton's new film "Alice in Wonderland" starring Johnny Depp.
