Teglia Commits to University of Massachusetts

The Omaha Lancers announced that goaltender Jeff Teglia has committed to the University of Massachusetts and will attend the school beginning in the fall of 2010.

A second-year netminder from Bloomingdale, Illinois, Teglia has posted a 28-10-5 record in 43 appearances this season for the Lancers.  His 28 wins lead all West Division goaltenders and currently ranks second among all USHL netminders.  He leads the League with a .919 save percentage and currently ranks fourth in the League with a 2.34 goals-against-average.  Teglia has also posted four shutouts this season which rank tied for second in the USHL.

The 19-year-old was named as the starting goaltender for the West Division during the 2010 USHL All-Star Game.  In 84 career appearances in the USHL, he has compiled a 48-19-12 record while posting a 2.64 GAA and a .907 SV%.

Teglia was originally selected 33rd overall (Round 4) by the Lancers in the 2008 USHL Entry Draft.   Last season, he earned the USHL Scholar-Athlete Award in recognition for his success both on the ice and in the classroom.

Indiana Ice forward John Parker, Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Conor Allen, and Lincoln Stars forward Chris DelMauro are also committed to attend the University of Massachusetts.  The UMass Minutemen are members of Hockey East and had 11 former USHL players on the roster this season; Justin Braun (Green Bay Gamblers), Rocco Carzo (Des Moines Buccaneers), Danny Hobbs (Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets), Brian Keane (Chicago Steel), James Marcou (Waterloo Black Hawks), Michael Marcou (Waterloo Black Hawks), Eddie Olczyk (Waterloo Black Hawks), Darren Rowe (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), T.J.
