USHL Honors - Week 22

The United States Hockey League today announced the weekly award winners for the 22nd week of the 2009-10 USHL regular season.

Congratulations to forward Jason Zucker of Team USA, named Reebok Offensive Player of the Week; defenseman Nick Jensen of the Green Bay Gamblers, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Andy Iles of Team USA who earned honors as the USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Zucker scored seven points (6g, 1a) and registered a plus-five rating as Team USA's Under-18 squad won three road games in three nights over the weekend.  He netted two goals and dished out an assist in the 6-2 win at Des Moines on Friday.  The 18-year-old then registered his first USHL hat trick in the 7-1 win over Lincoln on Saturday.  The native of Las Vegas, Nevada completed his weekend with a goal in the 6-0 victory against Sioux City on Sunday.  In 16 USHL games this season, Zucker has recorded 13 points (9g, 4a) and a plus-seven rating.

Jensen registered three points (2g, 1a) and a plus-one rating as the Gamblers won two of three games.  He tallied a goal in Friday's 5-1 win over Sioux Falls which was his third straight game with a goal.  On Sunday, the 19-year-old scored shorthanded and dished out an assist in the 5-3 victory against Youngstown.  It is the second USHL season for the native of Rogers, Minnesota.  He has recorded 21 points (5g, 16a) and a plus-24 rating in 42 games for the Gamblers, including four goals over his last five games.

Iles picked up two road victories for Team USA posting a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .951 save percentage.  On Friday, he made 18 saves in the 6-2 win over Des Moines.  The 18-year-old then stopped all 21 shots he faced on Sunday in the 6-0 shutout of Sioux City.  It was the second shutout in the last three USHL starts for the native of Ithaca, New York.  Iles has allowed just four goals in his last 260 minutes of game action (0.92 GAA).  He has compiled an 8-3-0 record in 11 USHL appearances, including the victory in each of his last five games played.
