The Indiana Ice announced that defenseman Taylor Boldt has committed to Dartmouth College and will attend the school following his USHL career.
Boldt has registered two assists and a plus-four rating in eight games for the Ice this season. The 19-year-old native of Niwot, Colorado is in his second USHL campaign after posting two assists and a plus-10 rating in 33 games for the Ice in 2008-09. Boldt also played eight playoff games in helping the Ice capture the Clark Cup.
Boldt will be joined at Dartmouth by two of his current Indiana Ice teammates, goaltender Cab Morris and defenseman Billy Fitzgerald. Sioux Falls Stampede forward Matt Lindblad has also committed to the school.
Dartmouth College is a member of the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) and seven former USHL players are currently on the roster for the "The Big Green" men's hockey team; Seven USHL alumni are currently on the roster for the Ivy League's Dartmouth Big Green; Jason Bourgea (Indiana Ice), Troy Mattila (Tri-City Storm), Kyle Reeds (Waterloo Black Hawks), Doug Jones (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Evan Stephens (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Mike Keenan (Sioux City Musketeers), and Danny Markowitz (Tri-City Storm/Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets). Former Tri-City Storm assistant coach John Rose is on the coaching staff at Dartmouth College.
