Omaha Lancers 4 @ Team USA 3 (SO)
Team USA built a 3-1 lead after through two periods of play thanks to a pair of goals from Bill Arnold, but Omaha battled back in the third period scoring two goals in a span of 47 seconds to even the game and send it to overtime. After a scoreless five minutes, the game was decided in a shootout. Lancers forward Matt White, who scored the equalizer in the third period, converted on his shootout attempt along with teammate Seth Ambroz. Bill Arnold remained hot and scored on his attempt for Team USA, but it wasn't enough as Omaha defeated the U-18 squad one night after beating the U-17 team. Goaltender Jeff Teglia made 35 saves to earn his League-leading sixth win of the season.
Waterloo Black Hawks 1 @ Indiana Ice 2
J.T. Brown scored his third goal over the past two games for the Black Hawks, but Max Cook and Kevin Goumas each scored their first goal of the season to give the Ice the victory. Casey DeSmith made 25 saves in goal for Indiana to claim the win while C.J. Motte stopped 32 shots for Waterloo. Associate Head Coach Justin Lyle guided the Ice to the win while filling in for Head Coach Jeff Blashill who is with U.S. Select Team at the Junior A Challenge.
Green Bay Gamblers 3 @ Sioux City Musketeers 0
He only had to turn away 11 shots, but Steve Summerhays recorded his second consecutive shutout in goal for the Gamblers. Brett Chartier scored a goal in his debut with Green Bay after being acquired in a trade earlier in the week. Matt Stewart and Ryan Furne each scored their first of the season for the Gamblers while Furne also tallied an assist and registered a game high plus-three rating.
Lincoln Stars 0 @ Sioux Falls Stampede 4
The Stampede got goals from four different skaters and goaltender Lino Chimienti did the rest of the work stopping all 23 Lincoln shots to earn his fourth straight victory for Sioux Falls. Dominic Zombo scored his first goal of the year and Matt Zarbo scored his fourth of the season to tie for the team lead.
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 2 @ Chicago Steel 0
In a matchup of two teams tied atop the East Division, Matt Hemingway made the most of his second USHL start by turning aside all 30 shots by the Chicago Steel to earn his first shutout in the League. The Steel came in as the highest scoring team in the USHL averaging 4.88 per contest. Sam Warning scored on a penalty shot in the second period which proved to be the game-winner and moved the RoughRiders into sole possession of first place in the East Division.
Youngstown Phantoms 3 @ Fargo Force 1
Johnnie Searfoss scored a goal in his fifth straight game for the Force, but the Phantoms scored three unanswered goals to snap a four-game winless streak. Brett Gensler tallied a pair of goals for Youngstown and defenseman Scott Mayfield recorded his second goal of the season. Matthew Mahalak made 20 saves in goal to earn the victory.
