Three goals in the first period propelled the Lancers to their fourth win of the season and into second place in the USHL's West Division standings. Forward Ryan Daughtery had a big night scoring two goals and one assist for a three-point game. Seth Ambroz scored a goal for the third consecutive game for the Lancers. Dakota Eveland (1g, 1a) and Joe Lavin (2a) each had a pair of points in the victory and Anthony Hamburg scored his first career USHL goal. Jeff Teglia made 25 saves in net to earn his third victory of the season. He currently leads USHL goaltenders with both a 1.76 GAA and a .933 SV%.
Alex Krushelnyski scored the lone goal for the Steel and extended his League best point streak to six games. It was the first 5-on-5 goal scored against the Lancers this season.
