Sioux City Musketeers 2 @ Team USA 1

All three goals were scored in the second period as the Musketeers spoiled the USHL debut for the Team USA Under 18 squad.  Dan Ford had his second goal in as many nights while Mitch Zion scored his first goal of the year for Sioux City, which proved to be the game-winner.  Team USA outshot the Musketeers 41-17 but Willie Yanakeff made 40 saves in net for Sioux City to earn the win.

Team USA 1 @ Indiana Ice 4

The Ice celebrated their home opener by jumping out to a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.  Nic Dowd (1g, 1a), Anthony Bitetto (1g, 1a), David Johnstone (2a), and Chris Martin (1g, 1a) all had two-point nights for Indiana while Ryan Haggerty scored his second goal of the season for the Team USA Under 17 squad.  Cab Morris made 18 saves in net for the Ice.

Youngstown Phantoms 3 @ Des Moines Buccaneers 5

The Bucs jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Phantoms battled back to even the game leading into the third period.  Des Moines capped off their second victory of the season with two goals in the final frame.  Eight different players scored goals in the contest while 16 different players registered a point.

Fargo Force 5 @ Omaha Lancers 2

A four-point night for Matt Leitner (2g, 2a) led the way as the Force handed the Lancers their first loss of the season.  Eamonn McDermott dished out three assist for Fargo and Cody Campbell made 19 saves to record the win.  Seth scored for the second consecutive for the Lancers.

Green Bay Gamblers 3 @ Sioux Falls Stampede 2 (OT)

The Stampede scored a pair of goals in a span of 50 seconds in the first period but the Gamblers tallied twice in the third period to send the game to overtime.  After a scoreless five minutes, the game headed to a shootout where the Gamblers converted twice and gained the victory.  Steve Summerhays made 20 saves for Green Bay plus stopped all four attempts by Sioux Falls in the shootout.

Chicago Steel 3 @ Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 1

Two goals in the second period propelled the Steel to the victory handing the RoughRiders their  first loss of the season.  Nick Pisellini made 36 saves for Chicago to spoil the home opener for Cedar Rapids.  Mark Anthoine (1g, 1a) and Greg Wolfe (2a) each had two points for the Steel.  Jeff Costello netted his fifth goal of the season for the RoughRiders.
