Big second period powers Gamblers past Team USA. Chris Crane netted two goals for the Gamblers while defenseman David Makowski had his second multi-point game of the season (1g, 1a). Steve Summerhays made 24 saves in goal for Green Bay.
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 3 @ Sioux City Musketeers 1
Derek Deblois' first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner as the RoughRiders remained undefeated (2-0-0) on the young season. Troy Grosenick made 26 saves in net for Cedar Rapids.
Des Moines Buccaneers 2 @ Lincoln Stars 3
Two goals by Andrew Ammon, including the game-winner in the third period, propelled Lincoln to a victory in their home opener in front of a sellout crowd of 4,642 at the Ice Box. T.J. Tynan moved his point streak to three games by scoring his third goal of the season for Des Moines.
Indiana Ice 1 @ Tri-City Storm 5
The Storm got the first win of the season for new coach Drew Schoneck. Five different players registered a goal for the Storm and the goals were scored five different ways; even strength, power play, penalty shot, unassisted, and empty net.
Waterloo Black Hawks 3 @ Chicago Steel 6
Chicago remained hot offensively as six different players recorded a goal in the victory for the League-leading Steel (3-0-0). The penalty killing was also a factory as they held the Black Hawks to 0-for-7 on the man advantage.
Sioux Falls Stampede 4 @ Fargo Force 3
Another one-goal game in this series that has now seen seven of the 10 all-time meetings decided by a single tally. The first six goals of the game were all scored on the power play before Matt Zarbo netted the game-winner in the third period at even strength.
