Matteau Inks NHL Contract

The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Stefan Matteau to a NHL entry-level contract after selecting him in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Matteau spent the past two seasons in the USHL with Team USA recording 19 points (10g, 9a) and 140 penalty minutes in 46 games in the League. He scored 10 points (6g, 4a) and posted a plus-four rating in 18 USHL games during the 2011-12.
The 18-year-old was selected by the Devils with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, one of a record six USHL players chosen in the first round. He is the son of Stephane Matteau who spent 13 seasons playing in the NHL.
